St. Mary’s Convent High School, Kanpur hosted its Annual Concert for the Primary Section (that is, class I to V) on 11th November, 2016. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Col. Dushyant Singh, SSO, Kanpur Cantt. and the Guest of Honour was Sister Roshni C.J., Provincial Superior of the C.J. Sisters. The programme started with a tribute to Saint Teresa and then invoked God’s blessings on everyone through ’Ish Vandana’. This was followed by the item ‘Count Your Blessings’, which was an expression of gratitude to the Almighty for His countless blessings. The Biblical play ‘Manavta ki Pukar’ tried to make us conscious of our duties towards this world. ‘Save the environment was the message given by the item ‘Sundar Srishti’ presented by the children of the Mary Ward School, an institution run by the SMC for the underprivileged children. The Hindi and English songs enthralled the audience. The recitation of the poems by the little ones delighted everyone present. ‘Splendid Cultural Fiesta’ was a vibrant display of the folk dances of India. The Hindi comedy ‘Zimmedar Kaun’ reflected the evils of the society and made us conscious of our duties as voters. The performers of the Korean Dance mesmerized the audience with their dainty steps. Next was an appeal for peace by the little ones through a dance ‘Give Peace a Chance’. ‘Sparkling Generosity’, the English play was immensely enjoyed by everyone present. The programme ended with the little musicians of SMC, who played various tunes to entertain the people.The Chief Guest encouraged the students by applauding them on their splendid performance and wished them the best for the future. The Principal, Sister Divya C.J. proposed the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the hard work of all those who contributed to the success of the programme.
