SENIOR ANNUAL CONCERT 2018

St. Mary’s Convent High School, Kanpur hosted its Annual Concert of the Senior Section ‘Marian Effervescence’ on 17th November 2018. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brigadier Naveen Singh, Station Commander, Cantt. Kanpur. The programme commenced with ‘Prayer Dance’, an invocation to the Almighty. This was followed by a depiction of the Just Soul Vision of Mother Mary Ward, the foundress of the school. It highlighted the fact that the principles of justice, freedom and sincerity are important for the modern generation. The Hindi play ‘Phulkari’ showed the love and care that parents shower on their children. The students of the programme ‘Dance-ma-tazz’ enthralled the audience with their various western dance moves. The next item was the English play ‘Lithuania’ which depicted how human greed brings only misery and sorrow. In the programme, ‘Classical Allegro’ the students depicted the strength of the women through various classical dance forms. ‘Jai Ho’, the dance drama filled the audience with a patriotic fervor as it depicted the Indian scenario before and after independence. The programme was carried forward by the melodious English and Hindi songs performed by the school choir. The programme concluded with a mesmerizing orchestra recital. The Chief Guest encouraged the students with his inspiring words and wished them well for the future. In the end, the Principal Sr. Divya CJ proposed the Vote of Thanks and applauded the efforts of all those who had contributed to the success of the programme.
