The summer camp organised by St. Mary's Convent High School, Kanpur, ended today. During the camp, students were offered a plethora of activities which included art and craft, role play, dance, music, zumba, martial arts, basketball, athletics etc.... A cultural bonanza was organised where students presented eye-captivating performances.
Respected Sr. Roshini , our dear Principal Sr. Prabha and Sisters of the community applauded the efforts of the staff and students and encouraged them to develop their latent skills and talents.
All the students participated enthusiastically in the camp and were excited to be a part of it. The fusion dance enthralled the audience. The role-plays by our little ones were marvelous which taught us the moral values of being a good friend, having good manners and becoming a good human being. Martial arts performance was mesmerizing. Classical singers and dancers held the audience spellbound.
Students learnt the rules and skills of various activities and showcased their talents. Sports play a significant role in the all round development and also in shaping the personality of a child. It makes a person feel relaxed and also relieves one from stress. Teachers took special initiative to train up girls in sports which will help them in their future. Children utilized the morning hours of the week of vacation in a constructive way. Not only sports but music, classical singing, role plays, drawing classes, martial arts etc were also held during this camp. In the closing ceremony, basketball and Kho-Kho matches were held where the students participated with great enthusiasm, the choir presented a melodious number, follwed by the Vande Mataram by our School Orchestra.The students who actively participated in the camp were given certificates.
Our honorable Principal delivered a motivational speech encouraging children to continue to work hard and stay happy and healthy. She also said that the camp was truly unforgettable. She also thanked the sports,music and art and craft teacher for their sincere endeavours. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
