Annual Sports & P.T. Display, 2022 ( Primary School)
St. Mary's Convent High, Kanpur celebrated its Annual Sports & P.T. Display (Primary Wing)
on 26th November, 2022. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brigadier Nanda Kumar K.
Shaurya Chakra, Station Commander, Cantt, Kanpur. Respected Sister Prabha CJ, the Principal
of the school welcomed the gathering. The programme commenced with an impressive March
Past by the four Houses namely Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire and Topaz. This was followed by the
lighting of the torch by the Games Captain, Kaatyayni Rohilla and oath taking by the student
body wherein they pledged to play in the true spirit of sportsmanship. After the School Anthem,
the Chief Guest declared the Athletic Meet open. The first P.T item was ‘Love you Zindagi’ in
which the students of Classes 1 & 2 depicted through their graceful dance movements how to
embrace life with hope. The tiny tots of LKG & UKG classes dressed as angels, through their
Mass P.T ‘ Spectrum of Colours' conveyed the message that amidst every chaos, a rainbow of
hope awaits us . Next on the agenda was the P.T drill ‘Asli Punji,Swasth Kaaya' of the students
of Mary Ward School who performed synchronised exercises emphasising the need to be fit and
healthy. The students of classes 3,4 and 5 through their P.T. item ‘Be Keen to Clean’
highlighted the relevance of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. The grand finale of the programme was
"Majestic Knights' in which the students of classes 3,4 and 5 showed the pivotal role played by
the Airforce, BSF and Navy in safeguarding our nation. The pyramid formations by the students
depicting battalions, tanks, tunnels and bridges were a tribute to our brave soldiers. The orchestra
team did a commendable job and were appreciated by one and all.
The young athletes proved their mettle on the field by winning various medals in track events
namely 400 metres race, 200 metres race,100 metres race and relay race. Our little ones
participated in fun filled races like Clown Race, Rabbit and Carrot Race, Balloon Race,
Caterpillar Race and Happy Feet Race.
The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the students and inspired them to work hard to reach their
goal. Eight athletes of our school had participated in CISCE National Athletic Meet held in Pune.
They had scored All India Ranks and thus were awarded prizes.
